03/30/2026

Hurwitz Sagarin & Slossberg is proud to announce that Partner Erica O. Nolan has been named a 2026 Woman in Business by the Hartford Business Journal, recognizing her leadership in complex litigation and her commitment to mentoring the next generation of attorneys.

The Hartford Business Journal's Women in Business awards celebrate accomplished women across Connecticut who demonstrate exceptional professional achievement, leadership, and community involvement. Nolan was selected from among nominees throughout the state for her work leading high-stakes litigation and her dedication to creating sustainable career paths for women in the legal profession.

"Becoming a partner at a boutique litigation firm while leading complex litigation and raising two children has been my proudest accomplishment, demonstrating that strong leadership and family life can grow together in a supportive environment," Nolan said in her recognition profile.

As a partner at Hurwitz Sagarin & Slossberg, Nolan handles complex civil litigation including employment disputes, civil rights matters, business torts, and appellate advocacy. She leads litigation teams from case strategy through trial, providing mentorship to junior attorneys and building a practice focused on meaningful client outcomes.

Beyond her legal practice, Nolan is deeply involved in the Connecticut legal community. She serves as a coach for a middle school mock trial team that has achieved repeated state championship success and is active in the Federal Bar Council and Connecticut Bar Association. She is also engaged in her children's school community.

Looking ahead, Nolan aims to use her leadership role to create sustainable paths for women in business. "I want to support mentorship, thoughtful workloads, and a firm culture where professional success and family life can thrive together," she said.

Nolan has been recognized as a Best Lawyers "One to Watch" in four practice areas and named a Connecticut Super Lawyers Rising Star for Business Litigation. She previously served as a judicial law clerk at the Connecticut Appellate Court.

The Hartford Business Journal will celebrate the 2026 Women in Business honorees at an awards ceremony later this year.
